Sergio Gabriel Martinez is a boxing star who was born on February 21, 1975 In Argentina. This Argentine professional boxer now is a champion of The Ring Middleweight category. In past he was in light middleweight class and even won WBC Light Middleweight title and WBC Latino title. Today according to various boxing lists and sporting news such as The Ring, ESPN, Yahoo Sport and Sports Illustrated Sergio is considered to be the number three among the list of best pound for pound boxers in the world. Sergio Martinez is a son of Hugo Alberto Martinez and Susana Griselda. He was born in Avellaneda but later moved with his parents and two brothers to Quilmes. In 1995 Martinez decided to become a boxer although before he was keen on football. At first he was trained by his uncle Ruben Paniagua who tried to make Martinez a real professional. At the start of his boxing career he as an amateur he won 39 fight and was defeated only twice by way of majority decision and knockout. By unfortunate circumstances he was forced to suspend his boxing career for the year due to his hand fracture.
